There was one early episode where they were "taking the piss" as "you lot" say, out of this fucking gay-ass awful early 80's video by the band Journey for the song "Separate Ways". This video is so bad, that years later in a Huffington Post article, they had to explain how a series of miscues and circumstances led to them making what they themselves refer to as that "cheeseball video". They were briefly playing air guitar, air drums, even air keyboard. Along with Steve Perry's overwrought emoting while singing, it was one of the most ridiculous things I ever saw on MTV or possibly anywhere else. Anyway, Beavis and Butthead got ahold of it and tore it a new one as only they could. At one point, Butthead remarked something to the effect of "Is this the Partridge Family?" and then Beavis comes back with something like "If this video was a turd, it would still be a turd". Fucking hilarious. I nearly pissed myself laughing the first time I saw it. I wanted to post it here, but YouTube for some reason, has taken it down.
