I’ve gone a bit funny, just being inside,
They say there’s a virus, and that we should hide,
I don’t have much money, now I’m on the dole
But I’ve got 6 months of whisky and toilet roll.

If I was a doctor, but then again no,
Or the man, who makes forecasts for the WHO,
They don’t know that much, but it’s the best they can do,
Is this armageddon, or just seasonal flu?

And you can tell everybody, to stay at home,
It may be quite pointless but, when in Rome,
I hope you’ve got wine, I hope you’ve got wine
Enough booze for a year
How wonderful life is, in a climate of fear.

I sat on the couch, and plucked up the nerve,
To see if we’ve finally flattened the curve,
The world’s going bankrupt, but never you fear,
At least 85-year-olds, will live one more year.

So excuse me forgetting, but these things I do,
Why has the world stopped just to save a small few?
Anyway the thing is, what I really mean,
Let’s stop being prisoners to, COVID-19.

And you can tell everybody, that this is a farce,
It’s just politicians trying, to cover their arse,
Just use your own mind, just use your own mind,
And remember these words,
How wonderful life was, outside in the world.

The brothers in the streets may have been willing to work it out 30 years ago.  Seems like a lifetime ago.

If young folk listened to this rather than violent drill music celebrating drugs, stabbing and rape then perhaps they'd be a bit more informed about social history and less inclined to act like cunts.

And you have never been in love,
Until you've seen the dawn rise,
Behind the Home for the Blind.

Remember Bernard Manning's Morrissey tribute? Bernard sat on a stool, smoky filter on the camera, singing 'Heaven knows I'm miserable now'. Halfway through, he stands up, twirls around to reveal a bunch of daffodils hanging out of his arse crack.
