Copyright and Patent Law

The High Court has just ruled that Samsung did not infringe Apple parents on it tablet computer. Patent law (now USA driven) is joke, often very simple idea are patented for no good reason. If an idea is really inavative and life changing then yes there is an argument, but much of the concept of patents belongs to a world where things ran more slowly, the present patent and copywrite laws stiffle inovation and the world is running much more quickly, the reality is that many companies abuse the system and make huge and unjustified profits. these days in the computer and high tech industry especially, there is a strong argument for the protection period for patents and coyrighto be much shorter .. fives years at most and possibly as little as two years.
