CCArchive
These were really huge tank engines and as 4-6-$T they were a match in power for a 4-6-0 tender loco, Only the London Brighton & South Coast used them effectivelly as whilst they had enough power for heavt and fast expresses, their range was limited by them being tank locomotives, Th Lancashire & Yorkshire had some larger ones but could not find any proper use for them so they were quickly scrapped. Even the Brighton Baltics ended being converted to N15X 4-6-) tender locomotves after the Brighton line was electrified. The Brighton Baltics were Lawson Billinton's masterpriece and a superb design, but oh what a cunt that they only had a 15 year career as a tank engine.
