Nominating a 14 yr old girl for the Nobel Peace Prize.

This 14 yr old girl was shot in the head by a religious extremist for commenting seemingly out of turn, as adolescents will, that girls should be entitled to education in the same way as boys. The problem is that she said this is Pakistan, not exactly the home of the free or a bastion of democracy and free speech. She is now over here being treated and, things being as they are , lo and behold, people are now talking about nominating her for the Nobel peace prize. Am I missing something here? This makes no fucking sense at all. What the fuck does this achieve? This is yet more breast beating, aimless, political correctness in my view. The world is quietly going mad.
