CCArchive
Traditional British social divisions of upper, middle and working class are said to beout of date in the 21st Century, no longer reflecting modern occupations or lifestyles. The BBC teamed up with sociologists from leading universities to analyse the modern British class system. They surveyed more than 161,000 people and came up with a new model made up of seven groups. It is now being chattered about and people are thrilled to be largely placed in the emergent financially "secure" middle class bands. I think this is a bit of a fucking smoke screen. The majority of this fur coat and no drawers middle class will have no savings, will be mortgaged up to the hilt and will be living well beyond their means. If they miss a couple of pay days , they are as much in the shit as those on the minimum wage. I know people who earn 80k a year who don't own anything and have no assets. This is a load of bollocks. People though, could do with taking a long hard look at their life situation and their means.
