CCArchive Posted August 16, 2014 Report Share Posted August 16, 2014 Hammond is a cunt for supporting HS2, the new high speed train designed to travel at 250 mph and cut journey times to Birmingham , The North West and Scotland. It will cost of some estimated 34bn pounds and decimate some areas of natural beauty. The benefits of this expensive new line are minimal compared to the outlay when other budgets are being cut. The underlying motive is an EU wide network of high speed rail being rolled out by Brussels without consideration for local needs. The enviromental impact negates any perceived benefit from air travel reduction. Who flies from London to Birmingham?
