He also had no asperation to be the president either, and it was a truly secular state with a large Christian community who the Krauts should have taken as refugees.

The “rescue packages” saved  assorted Yankee insurance, as the debt was protected by a number of US firms. Under gentle pressure from Americans, the cunts did what they thought was only best for the North. These loans could have been paid for by the Yanks. There was no need to fuck those countries over. When his old man died, Assad was thrown in at the deep end. Luckily though, he wasn't a sadistic psychopath like Saddam Hussein's or Gaddafi's kids. You would think that taking into consideration the history of Greek debt, the type of their economy, etc, the best the country should have been offered would have been a membership without the Euro. It would have kept opportunistic and bent Greek and foreign speculators  at bay, or even if they took the risk, the cunts could eat potential loses.

And yes, no country should take out loans denominated in a foreign currency they can’t print out of when all goes to shit.
One current example of throwing debt into a black hole without asking anyone’s permission is the NHS load this spring. May it rest in peace.
