Fuck the lot of em The trouble with Turkey is that it has had such a chequered history - not too long ago still vivid in minds of Balkan people - that it could never sit easy with Western Europe. Britain does not give a damn being a secular imperialist lackey of the US with no particular historical interest in Turkey apart from being a pawn in a larger game. Having said that, when the Turks moved out in favour of the Austrians in the Balkans, that was the end of cultural and religious tolerance. The Habsburgs were fuckers.
