A hospital consultant here got banned for drink driving. He went on a medical jolly in London and sensibly went by train. He got stuck into the free beer and wine, caught the train back, then like a complete idiot got into his car instead of using the station taxi company. He wasn't stopped by police, he was still so pissed that he ploughed into the back of a stationary car just round the corner.

I very much doubt that a council would have the power to close an open viable pub and convert it to a Mosque, although they could refuse to allow an already  closed pub to reopen, especially if there are objections from the police because of trouble there in the past.

The most horrible taxi ride I ever had was in Macclesfield. The driver was an ex meat inspector so you would assume he knew about hygiene and stuff. Unfortunately he stank like a whole shed-load of pigs and despite a bath and change of clothes I couldn't get his smell out of my nostrils for days.

No he wasn't Muslim or Asian. He did stink though, I mean really stink.
