One thing to forget is any hope of a sensible deal with the USA. They are in long term protection mode .. the only real way of doing business with the USA is by doing production there as firms such as Alexander Dennis are doing with bus manufacturing (and they have cut themselves a very nice slice of the market there). There will however be plenty of other countries that will be more than happy to trade with us.

I think that he knows that he is probably not going to be in the job for the long term, the most he has got is three years .. he sees himself as a man with a mission I think that he will go for all or nothing. Backstop or not we will be out of the EU on 31st October. How long before we are negotiating to rejoin in some form, who knows.
