They have been charged with the murder of their own daughter because she had become too Westernised. Shafilea had an arranged marriage on her horizon to a cousin living in Pakistan. Shafilea, being born and raised in the UK understandably did not want to leave behind the life she knew and go to live with a man she did not. The perceived dishonor to the family is alleged to be too much to bear and resulted in the death of Shafilea at her parents hands. I repeat ALLEDGED! The prosecution does have credence though!
