Obviously an American idea, BUT these cages were actually purchased from the USA by East Popular Borough Council in 1937 and distributed to members of The Chelsea Baby Club who lived in high buildings and had no gardens, so that babies could benefit from fresh air and sunshine, whilst freeing up living space from the clutter of toys and for another place for babies to sleep Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
