That depends on whose statistics you believe. That said, RC attendance is probably increasing at a rate higher than world population growth, more so in continents such as Africa. In technologically more advanced and democratic Europe the inverse is true. One has only to witness the Catholic church's diminished hold and influence in Ireland to see that.
