You could argue that their purpose is to bring comfort by looking back at ancient loved ones (you probably never even met) or make one daydream looking at or reliving the prospect of a particular destination. But the image is just a mere illusion. Only a Cunt would kid themselves. The past is gone. Dreams are just that. Get rid, sling them, focus on reality what is.
