I don't really see why say people perhaps should not be able have one other id should always be seen as problem just so long as they keep both ids under control and don't do silly things. In the real world out there journaist often use a couple f "pen names" (see what I did there) .. perhaps if it was allowed it could also help bring more traffic to the site.
