I didn't watch the TV programme. As someone who grew up surrounded by Irish people who showed sympathy to the republican cause, it is unwise in my opinion to underestimate the numbers who do indeed sympathise with the jihadist ideology. There were plenty of men happy to offer fellow congregation brethren the sign of peace at holy mass, but quite happy to sing rebel songs and put a contribution to the cause when the plate was passed round in the social club. Yes, they wouldn't have the nuts to drive a car full of explosives and leave it in the desired place, but they didn't show any contrition when the consequences of their support came to fruition. I have 5 young children and I don't know what a crazy place UK plc will be when they leave home. I don't like what I see, not because I don't like foreigners, far from it, I have spent 28 years of nursing with some fantastic people from all parts of the World, but because I don't see any sensible counterweight to a religion that is no less bigoted and backward than roman Catholicism.

I am not a fan of the goat herders, but then I am not a fan of crusading Christians. The church of England, (despite the fact it still has relevance on the statute and the head of state is the head of the church) is largely an irrelevance to the overwhelming majority of those in England in terms of spirituality and day to day existence. I worry about the importing of another faith that has heinous ideas not too dissimilar to what crusading Christianity effected. Ultimately, it is about contribution. I don't like to see how elderly people of all backgrounds who have put 40 years of contribution into the UK plc are not receiving their entitlement and, in some cases, are behind those in the queue who claim asylum. That is not fair.

Communist? UK plc has the biggest fucking casino in the world in the form of the financial district of London.
