Hardly. Look at where the Empire has been and look at its legacy. Israel is a complete mess because of the British mandate and it's distinct lack of ability to handle Zionism. Cypus has the only divided capital city on the planet after a divide and rule policy by the British administration caused ethnic tensions between Greeks and Turks. The partition of India amounted to the displacement of millions of people and subsequent tensions between India and Pakistan, and nearly every African state that the British left has either descended into civil war or been brutalised by totalitarian rulers. Not to mention the open wound of Ulster caused by oppressive British policies. It wasn't perfect, and it didn't work, and you're a fucking idiot for suggesting that it did.

Not at all, my original assertion was based upon both the professional opinions of my father-in-law and his colleagues, plus numerous other sources both online and offline. Can you honestly claim that you have any sort of direct, or even indirect experience of the qualities of Chinese steel beyond internet research? If so perhaps you might like to enlighten us. The fact remains that it has been widely acknowledged that Chinese steel is dangerous, inferior and substandard when compared to British steel, by people who actually work within industrial workplaces and haven't just made a snap evaluation based upon trawling online articles favourable to a certain political viewpoint. I won't argue the minutiae again, but for anyone who missed it first time around, please form your own opinions regarding this argument by reading the original posts.

Whilst I find myself also shocked to hold a similar stance to Vince Cable, undoubtedly like yourself, I still would like to see the Lib Dems absolutely annihilated and finished off as even a minor political force at the next election. Their actions during the coalition were a fucking disgrace and it sickens me that one of their last strongholds is North Norfolk. If I had my way, Cable, Farron, Clegg, Lamb et al would be daubed in swaztikas and left to get an absolute fucking kicking in a militant university safe space of my choice.

I've had this out with her before. As you say, the UK will be flooded with substandard, dangerous products from countries that aren't subject to stringent EU health and safety laws. You say Chinese baby formula, I say Chinese steel. Strangely, despite claiming to endorse Brexit as an opportunity for British business and manufacturing, she endlessly defended the fantastic opportunity to subsidise the Chinese economy at the expense of the British steel industry.

You and millions of American voters might endorse a flippant, bigoted fucking idiot being able to spout a load of racist shit both privately and publically, but as the leader of the free world he has a responsibility to foster international goodwill and not act like a complete fucking cunt.

Agreed. Unless it is funded appropriately, the situation cannot continue as it is, and as I have previously stated, the money spent on prolonging the life of elderly, non-tax paying patients is unsustainable. In an ideal world we would have a government that spends the requisite amount of money on a health service that fully supports us from the cradle to the grave. That's not happening though, and exiting the EU will not change that fact.

I don't dispute the fact that there were people fully switched on who voted for Brexit. But the fact still remains that the slogan was not used to highlight how much subsidy was paid to the EU. If it was, it would have been explicit. The NHS funding angle was used to entice voters with a subject close to their hearts, and it was used in order to deceive. When offset against the annual EU funding we receive, plus any economic loss as a result of an unfair trading deal that could potentially be implemented, the amount available per week will be nowhere near that figure anyway. And even if it was, a Tory government which regardless of what it says is ideologically opposed to the NHS in principle, certainly won't be spending whatever surplus there is on the health service. It was a con, and a clever one that worked.
