I don't think it's 'superstition' per se that is the problem. It's 'certainty' and the unwillingness to countenance what might be possible that is the issue - a trait that is found in the likes of Richard Dawkins as well as in ISIS and their barbaric kind.

In an infinite universe you could say all possibilities exist, however certain outcomes are less likely and I am afraid for those who think there is a omnipotent god, that it is unlikely as omnipotence means rule over the whole universe, thus stiffling all other infinite possibilities that would or should exist. 

I am sure Richard Dawkins accepts that there are other dimensions and events within this one that are invisible to our meagre senses.
