They're one thing if your importing vast loads of goods with the intention to make equally vast profits, but many like myself who purshase say 20 items per year or those who perhaps purchase gifts for family etc., are faced with extortinate high charges and fees which cannot be reclaimed. ANYTHING currently purchased from overseas which exceeds a value of £50 can almost double the price with customs fees and other fucking charges, many of which cost me personally as much as £2k - £3k per month. I've seen folks in tears at parcel collection depots who simply don't have £100 or so to pay for a fucking Birthday present for example sent by their Mother to a Granddaughter. Christmas times in particular are mayhem at these depots. SURELY, there has to be a way that is fair and that can determine "Gifts" from "Franchise" and Company Imports from personal ones. I can only imagine that things will even get worse now we've left Europe and a wedge of Brie from France is gonna cost us an arm and a leg. Not now post Brexit, the Aussies are now looking to trade with the EU through Ireland who will now pocket the tariffs and profit on brokeing the deal. It's the langauge, the Aussies liked dealing through the UK because of the language barriers.
