It's this all-pervasive, smothering, legislative embrace of 'we know what's best for you' and the categorisation of anyone who believes in small government, personal responsibility, free enterprise and general freedom to do stuff without being a cunt to everyone else as some sort of crypto-fascist. A safety net for the unfortunate? Bring it on, especially those who have contributed something to the country, starting with PTSD-traumatised or limbless former squaddies. A hand-up for those in need? Hell yeah! But a state-sponsored jackboot, with a complicit society of wet victim-mentality wimps, crushing every last vice and liberty out of life in the name of the dogma of a notional 'progressive society'?
