We have a saying here Eric. If you want to go bush, take a Land Rover. If you want to come back, take a Land Cruiser.

Hilux is truly impossible to kill, but I still like the old Rovers. Astonishing off road until they shit themselves one way or another. The Rangie is unique among older 4x4s by actually being decent to drive on the road. Plus the 3.5 V8 sounds almost as good as a Stag.

The Stag was a beautiful pig. I did some MOT work on one years ago when my dad was still restoring and fixing cars. It was a never ending rabbit hole of problems.

Where do the Defenders leak water? I’ve used them but not owned one. The scuttle to bulkhead seam looks likely, which would mean footwell puddles.

I had a nearside footwell puddle in my old Landy 90 and an even bigger one on the driver's side on the 'newer' one, leaking rainwater through various seals between the side panels and hard roof. Amazingly, I was never able to quite pinpoint the exact leak or leaks, and I was lucky that I sold it during a heatwave, though by that time the water had stained part of the interior. It was originally a truck (open top) Defender 90, which probably had a whole lot to do with the cause of the drips, making their way via gravity to the footwell. That said, the rubber window seals were such shit quality I believe they are the cause of many infamous leaks. I had mine replaced by Exmoor Trim (local to where I live and a great little specialist company to deal with), who also put new sponges & seat cover on the original seats (it's good to keep everything original), as well as giving the door mechanics a spray of oil.

I miss my Defender, in a still being in love with a woman you just can't live with sort of way.

This is a topic about 4x4s, obviously.

So in spite of discussing the Bosch fuel injectors on your car the other day, I'm fairly certain the only thing you've sprayed with oil recently is the Edward Green shop assistant's cock, you catty little toad.

Water ingress has been a bane of motoring for its entire history. To be perfectly honest, if B&Q can supply a shed which  is entirely waterproof for £500 quid, and monocled inbreds we’re building submersible vehicles in the late 19th century… was it too much to ask that some of the worlds best mechanical engineers couldn’t build a watertight monocoque by at least the 1980s?

Too busy designing electronic gizmos for easily pleased spastics or driver assistance shite for dimlos that can’t drive.

In the case of the Defender 90 or 110, I suppose they were made for farmers and people who worked outdoors, so they were going to get wet anyway.

You underestimate the power of built-in obsolescence which in the case of anything made in Britain should be multiplied a thousand times.

If ever there was a sentence in which a dull fucking cunt was attempting to portray themself as more intelligent and well-read than they really are, this is it.

Either that or your native tongue isn't British. Are you Polish or other Slavic? It's only that your post - like many of your posts - appears as though it's been pieced together with a dictionary/thesaurus & fine-tuned in Google translate.

You're as natural as Katie Price's cunt hair.

How have I joined forces with him?  Take your cue, and shove it up your arse.

You know precisely what I meant, slimebag. One minute your responding to my posts, then next you're on the attack.

Christ, the only person seemingly more stupid here than you this evening is dim Harry.

'Slimebag'?? FFS, it's this level of cutting prose that has the site on its arse. You fucking useless wanker.
