My wife was about to give birth, and we were nowhere near a hospital, so I was very anxious. I called the hospital, and after I explained the situation, the nurse asked "Is this her first child ?". I worked hard and took a different route im medicine and I'm better for it. Each of those nurses know how hard it was going to be when they went into it as a career so don't start whining about a pay rise. Many workers out there haven't had a pay rise in years. Money is going to be tight for some time to come. Sunak is looking to recover a lot of the money by raising corporation tax to 25%. That's a big increase, and maybe there will be job losses in some sectors, if some companies decide to streamline. Hopefully not too much. I do know quite a few people who are currently working from home who can't wait to get back to the office.
