Ibiza Weekender, Love Island, now this pile of steaming Manchester party time. Actually there is a real life cabins in Birmingham called Travelodge which specialises in one night stands and overnighters for the sex hungry muts partying on a Saturday night too drunk or drugged to drive back to their own bedrooms further out. What I object to is the fucking televising of a white trash low quality way of life as a spectator sport being glorified into something worthy of the name entertainment. 

I was reading how the production of The World At War by Thames Television still stands as one of the greatest (and most expensive) television documentary series ever made. I also remember how Thames Television lost its franchise due to "low quality" in the eyes of the regulator. What the fuck has the current ITV produced in terms of lasting quality in the last year, five years or ten years?  My guess is the regulators don't want quality. They want to dumb down. They want a fucking nation of retards. If you're looking for a conspiracy don't bother with covid vaccination - study what's been going on inside peoples living rooms for past decade or more.

My drink driving days are long behind me, so if I'm on a night out up Norwich snorting coke in a club toilet and drinking quantities of booze that would make even Drew dry heave, it's cheaper to piss the bed in a £19 Travelodge room than pay £40 for a taxi home plus an additional clean up fee.

Absolutely. I've just recalled paying 25 notes for a B&B which I only needed for an afternoon. Back in the days when I could be back on the job in under 10 minutes. Failing to be prepared on the rubbers front and not keen on putting a bun in the oven, the sheets looked like a plasterers radio upon exit. Good times!

Which channel is this "cabins" thing on ?  If its on a commercial channel, that will be because they run on advert revenue and therefore have to go with what they think will be most popular, meaning that they are less likely to come up with educational content.  I also worry about TV being dumbed down, but most people just want entertainment from it these days.  If you really want educational content you are better off searching YouTube, there are some interesting channels on science and history.

I couldn't have put it better myself W&D. I only watch mainstream TV now for live news and sport. The rest of it is utter shit. I refuse to pay for a TV licence on the basis that the BBC is a job creation scheme for mentally ill Marxists and in this age of streaming there is a wide selection to suit one's tastes.

I think Harold's real problem is that the funding for Cbeebies has been cut.

The educational value has been going down for as long as I can remember. It was replaced by scruffy entertainment for the young and comatose, Alzheimer’s-speeding shit for the old ones. For me it’s mostly books (printed ones) and some research on the internet, mostly boring but valuable stuff to keep the brain going.
